Accreditation of the Laboratory

For the assurance of the independence, integrity, precision and professional contact the international community has imposed processes and procedures to make sure that the results obtained from food laboratories around the world are accurate, correct and consistent from lab to lab and from country to country.


Each country has its own National Accrediting Body, which awards accreditation to laboratories

Due to the lack of a National Body in Cyprus; our administration has applied and received accreditation from the corresponding Greek National Body.


Who can conduct analyses?

According to the Cypriot legislation, individuals that are registered in the Council of Registration of Chemists can perform chemical analyses.


Who can perform chemical analyses in the European Union?

According to directive 1999/11/EC: ?only laboratories that follow the GLP (or are accredited) can hold analyses in foods, waters or other products.
